Project Description
In XI-XII cc. Merv became the state capital of Great Seljuk and reaches zenith. By order of the Seljuk Sultan Malik Shah, the city was surrounded by extensive ramparts and moat. This fortress, area over 400 it , some, Sultan Kala – fortress sultans.
In the north-eastern part of Sultan Kala was built citadel - Shahriar Ark, housed the Sultans palace complexes, building for administrative purposes, and military barracks.
